Just Do It: Stop Making Excuses and Get Your Workout On

Enough with the excuses!  We’ve all been there with the “I’m too tired” or “I don’t have time” excuses. Or how about, “I’m not a gym person,” and “I can’t get motivated.” Or “I don’t want too big of muscles from lifting heavy weights.”

Sound familiar? Truth is, our excuses are endless, and we all make them. Don’t get stuck in a rut or fall victim to workout misconceptions . We all know exercise offers myriad health benefits.

Here are a few, in case you need a reminder:

  • Keeping a healthy body fat percentage
  • Keeping a healthy weight
  • Lowering your risk for breast cancer and other diseases
  • Keeping bones strong and warding off osteoporosis
  • Improving your mood and sleep quality

If running or strength training isn’t your thing, there are plenty of alternatives for getting in shape.  Whether you’re looking for something upbeat like Zumba or relaxing like yoga, there are exercises catering to everyone.  Even a walk with your dog counts!
